Reginald C Harris
Biography
LOVE, is the message that Jazz Saxophonist Reginald Harris conveys every time he performs. He captivates his listeners with his smooth tones and styles. Born Oct. 16, in Columbus GA, at a very young age, his parents introduced him to music. With the violin being his first instrument in the 3rd grade, he later picked up the saxophone in the 6th grade and fell immediately in Love with Jazz.
From playing in the Band at Beach High School in Savannah GA through College at Fort Valley State University, Reginald increased his craft in Marching Band as section Leader and Drum major. Reginald's major influences are David Sanborn, Kenny G, Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, and Boney James.
After completing two B.S. Degrees at Fort Valley State in 1997, Reginald began serving the Lord using his talent in the Church until he joined Gospel Recording Group 1-A-Chord in 2001. Since then, the group has completed two CDs. Now as Solo Artist, his love for Jazz has positioned himself to perform for Entrepreneur Kwame Jackson of the Apprentice, Executive Chef Carlos Brown of Gullah Gullah Cuisine(NC), Atlanta’s Next Best Jazz Artist, and is currently a regular performer at Atlanta’s premier restaurants; Chicago’s Nancy’s Pizzeria-(Buckhead), Sambuca-(Buckhead), Barley’s, Chef Rob’s Caribbean Café, Londzell’s Martini Bar in Roswell, Winestyles (Snellville), and during Atlanta’s Centennial Park Music @ Noon Series. He as has also performed with a host of bands specifically, Infinesse Jazz Band and Teddy White Band.
Reginald also has a heart for the teens. As the Teen Minister at Solid Stone Ministries, he frequently pours into the lives of the youth the importance of Jesus Love for us all. As CEO of Bible & Blanket Ministries, Reginald and his wife have partnered with Solid Stone Ministries and Safehouse Outreach, with providing a vehicle of Hope to the less fortunate in the Atlanta community by donating Bibles and Blankets and toiletries while spreading Gods Love.
And as the Co-Owner of Atlanta 1Voice Showcase, he and Gospel Artist Trish Standley partnered together to provide a platform for some of Atlanta’s best Gospel/Christian Artists to showcase their talent as well as draw men unto Christ!
He Released his Debut CD back in November 11, 2011 Entitled “BLESSINGS – 11:11”; which has in Rotation locally here in Atlanta on Kiss104 Tawanda Black’s “Good news Gospel” and Praise 102.5 Myron “Magic” Giggua’s Gospel Jazz Show and countless Internet Streaming Stations. Reginald also released Jazz Single “Ridin Thru Campcreek – Long Day (Instrumental)” in March 2017.
Reginald is a member of civic group Men of Distinction (MOD) of Atlanta and affiliated with its sister Group Women of Distinction (WOD). He is also CEO and Founder of Bible & Blanket Ministries, which is an outreach ministry that aids in helping Atlanta’s Homelessness through Safehouse Outreach.
